I am new to the Eurovan world and VWs in general. My 1999 Eurovan seems to run hot. The temperature gauge never goes above the mid point, but the engine itself feels and smells hot and the fans usually stay on for several minutes after I have been driving for awhile. Is it typical for these engines to run hot and for the fans to continue to run after stopping the engine? Thank you for your answer.
Most Eurovan owners would say that temperature is something that concerns them, at least a little bit. Some owners installed a ScanGuage that can monitor engine and trans temps. As for the fans running after the Eurovan stops, this is normal. If you think there is a problem, I’d suggest finding a local Eurovan enthusiast and meeting up to compare.
